Starting the Year with Intention

Happy New Year, friend! 🎉

2025 is here and I know many of us are setting resolutions for the year ahead. But here's the thing – instead of focusing on superficial goals or a checklist of things we think we should achieve, let’s commit to resolutions that lead to intentional growth. I’m a full believer that real transformation starts when we make decisions that align with our purpose, not just our to-do lists.

This year, let’s choose intentionality in everything we do. Intentional growth is about taking achievable steps that bring us closer to who we’re meant to be. It’s about showing up for ourselves – not just at the beginning of the year, but every day throughout the year. Let’s do more than just talk about change – I want us to live it.

To embrace the year ahead, let’s take a moment for some self-reflection. This is your space to be honest with yourself and dig into what you really want to achieve, both personally and professionally. Here are some questions I want you to consider:

  • What leadership challenges are you ready to face head-on this year?

  • What is one obstacle you overcame last year, and how can you apply that strength to new challenges?

  • In what area of your life do you need more intentional growth, and what achievable steps can you take to get there?

Maybe journal your thoughts. Write down your goals, no matter how big or small, and outline the steps that will bring them to life.

The most powerful way to begin the year is not by looking for something new, but by committing to something already within you.

This quote from Intentionally Here is a reminder that the power to transform is already within us. It’s about tapping into that inner strength and purpose to create the change we want to see. Commit to showing up for yourself with that same power.

It’s important to know that intentional growth doesn’t happen in isolation – it thrives in community. To be honest I spent all of 2024 in isolation from community instead of remaining one with it. This year, let’s lean on our communities, both online and in person, to grow together. I want you to do this with the understanding that there are pros and cons to being a part of a community, so focus on the pros! Here’s how I think you can get involved:

  • Find an accountability partner: Whether it’s for fitness, work, or personal goals, find someone to share your progress with and hold each other accountable.

  • Join a group that aligns with your personal or professional growth goals. Look for local workshops or online communities dedicated to leadership, self-care, or entrepreneurship.

You and I both can tell this world we live in is drastically changing, but that doesn’t mean we should lose sight of who we are. In fact, it’s even more important to stay grounded in our values. One major theme that I see for 2025 is the need for sustained action in the face of societal challenges. Whether it’s voting, environmental issues, or social justice, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by everything happening. But what if, instead of reacting, we took intentional steps to stay aligned with our personal values and contribute to positive change?

This year, let’s be mindful of how we engage with the world and stay true to what matters most to us. Remember, intentional action means consistently showing up and doing what aligns with your purpose, even in the midst of chaos.
