Mayors, City Council & School Boards = Your Everyday Life
As a former City Councilwoman, I can tell you firsthand: the local races on your ballot matter.

What’s good friend!

Do me a favor before your day fully ends… it’s quick, but it matters.
1. Check to make sure you’re registered to vote. Just because you voted last year doesn’t guarantee you’re still on the rolls. Things happen, and your registration could have been removed.
2. If you’re not registered… get registered today! Then save the dates for your upcoming Municipal Elections.
3. If you are registered… bet! Still save the dates for your Municipal Elections so you’re ready to show up.
While I may not hold elected office anymore, one thing has not changed: I’m still going to make sure you stay civically engaged…. Here’s why, this is municipal election season for many of us.
As a former City Councilwoman, I can tell you firsthand: the local races on your ballot matter. Your mayor, city council, and school board members make decisions that touch your day-to-day life like trash pickup, clean water, public safety, schools, and more. These are the people shaping the community you live in every single day.
So, take a few minutes to:
Find your county or state Board of Elections website.
See if you have an election this fall.
Mark your calendar now.
Thank you for doing this! Your voice matters, your vote matters, and I know may not look like it right now, BUT we will keep building the future we want to see.

With all seriousness,
Shakeyla M. Ingram 💗
