Loving Intentionally...
As a single person, it can be tough to continue believing that love is an option...
What’s Good Friend!
Today, myself and my other best friend “O” had the honor of witnessing something truly beautiful— our best friend “C”, since middle and high school, stood at the altar and committed to a life of loving intentionally with someone who shares the same goal. As a single person, I know it can be tough to continue believing that love is an option. Many of us go through so much pain and disappointment in the name of love that we start to shut down, closing our hearts to the possibility of truly loving again. But love, real love, isn't only about romance. It’s about intentionally choosing to open your heart, whether to a partner, a friend, or even yourself.
Watching my friend today reminded me that love isn't about the quick fixes or the "feel good - you up?" moments. It's about patience, commitment, and the choice to keep our hearts open, even when it feels impossible. Surrounding yourself with people who practice loving intentionally helps you keep that door open too. You learn to trust the process, remain patient, and avoid the urge to settle for temporary highs and most times come to crashing and sometimes lifelong impacts.
So, as I reflect on today’s celebration of love, I’m reminded to keep my heart open to the possibility of loving intentionally—because when we love with intention, we allow ourselves the opportunity to experience something deep, meaningful, and lasting.
If you aren’t… Can you choose to love with intention, no matter where you are on your journey?
With love,
