Y'all know I'm always going to turn up for celebrating women who lead with purpose!

What’s good friend!

Whether you’re in politics, business, grassroots movements, or self-made, women who lead with intention are shaping the world. These women face challenges head-on, stay true to their authentic selves, and create lasting change wherever they go.

We’re here to celebrate the women leading with purpose and discuss how we can do the same. If you’re one of them—give yourself a round of applause right now!

Let’s pause and think about the women leading the way today. Who inspires you? What’s so powerful about their journey? Now, let’s reflect on our own leadership path. Use these journal prompts to get clear on how you can lead with purpose and authenticity:

  • What leadership qualities do I admire in others, and how can I develop them in myself?

  • Think of a time when you overcame an obstacle in your leadership journey—what lessons did you learn from it?

  • How can I show up authentically, both in my personal and professional life, while staying aligned with my purpose?

Feel free to reply and let me know what you’re thinking…

The most common way people give up their power is by thinking they don’t have any.

Alice Walker

This quote reminds us that we ALL have power. Women—especially women of color—have always had the ability to shape and change the world. It’s time to recognize our power, use it intentionally, and take action, just like the trailblazing women throughout history.

So… I will never not speak about it… Women—especially Black women—are consistently subjected to disrespect and mistreatment. The mistreatment of women of color in leadership is a societal issue that continues to affect us. As I continue to move through spaces I’m reminded of the work needed to break barriers, we must continue to stand firm in our truth. The disrespect of Black women isn’t something we should tolerate, if anything - rise despite it all.

And as a very simple reminder which is something that I personally had to realize… Our power doesn’t come from titles—it comes from within. Let’s honor that power, stay aligned with our values, and lead with intention. We deserve to take up space in every room we walk into, and if I have to blunt, people are even more scare of the power we have as black women.

  • Book: Becoming by Michelle Obama – A powerful memoir chronicling Michelle Obama’s personal journey and leadership challenges, showing how she stayed true to herself through it all.

  • Motivational Video: I CAN DO IT - featuring Lisa Nichols

  • Resource: Lean In – A community of women supporting each other’s growth, providing resources and opportunities to help women succeed in both personal and professional settings.

Please know that our leadership is impactful too. Whether you’re breaking barriers, leading in your community, or simply showing up authentically, your intentional actions have the power to inspire change. Keep being a leading lady, and if you’re not a lady… keep supporting a leading lady!

With intention,
